Ingredients for Jeera Rice :
- Normal Rice / Basmathi Rice – 1 cup
- Salt
- Ghee – 1 spoon
- Bay leaf – 1
- Cinnamon
- Cumin Seeds/ Jeera – 1 cup
- Tadka ( How to prepare Tadka (పోపు) )
Ingredients for Chole Curry :
- Chick Peas – 250 grams
- Onions – chopped
- Tomatoes – 2
- Green Chillis
- Salt
- Turmeric powder
- Chilli powder
- bay leaf
- Tadka ( How to prepare Tadka (పోపు) )
- Oil
- Ginger Garlic paste
- Garam Masala Powder
Procedure for Jeera Rice :
- Wash Rice and keep it aside.
- take a pan and add ghee and hear for a minute and add the spices mixture and jeera seeds.
- When jeera becomes slightly brown, add the rice to it.
- for 1 cup rice, add 2 cups water and salt and pressure cook for 20 minutes.
- you can garnish with fried curry leaves or chopped onions.
Procedure for Chole Curry :
- Soak chickpeas overnight and mix salt and cook in pressure cooker for 20 minutes so that they become soft.
- make tomato puree in a mixer grinder and keep it aside.
- take a pan and add oil and prepare tadka ( How to prepare Tadka (పోపు) )
- now add chopped onions and 2 spoons of ginger garlic paste and saute till they become golden brown.
- now add tomato puree, 2 spoons of garam masala and salt to the above liquid mixture.
- now add the cooked chickpeas and add little water for gravy.
- add salt, if you need more salt.
- cook on low flame for 5-10minutes.
- yummy chole curry is ready 🙂
Jeera Rice can be had with the just prepared chole curry 🙂
