Pomfret Gravy

Ingredients :

  • Pomfret Fish– half kilo ( washed and cleaned with salt and turmeric)
  • Salt – 1 table spoon
  • Turmeric – 1 table spoon
  • Curd – 1 or 2 spoons full
  • Lemon
  • Chilli powder
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes for puree.

Procedure :

  • take washed and cleaned fish and keep aside.
  • add salt, turmeric, curd, lemon and chilli powder and apply to fish pieces and keep them aside for 30 to 45 minutes for marinating.
  • Then switch on stove and pour oil ,onions,and tadka( How to prepare Tadka (పోపు) ).
  • add tomato puree, salt and chilli powder and stir for a minute.
  • To the above puree, add the marinated fish pieces and let it cook.
  • add water as required. if you need more gravy, add little more water.
  • Tasty Andhra Style Pomfret Fish curry is ready !!!
